Q. What is JLR SDD, JLR VCI, Pathfinder & DOIP.

A. Jaguar Land Rover ( JLR ), SDD or Symptom Driven Diagnostic is a system used on both Jaguar and Land Rover brands for pre-2014 vehicles using the JLR VCI tool.

Pathfinder is a DOIP capable tool ( diagnostics, over, internet, protocol basically faster data transfer than CAN ) Pathfinder is for 2017 on vehicles, Pathfinder is both a tool and software type.

How to Connect Vehicle and Laptop?

The Diagnostic Interface VCX SE supports 2 communication methods with the laptop: WiFi and USB cable.

Divided into 4 steps:

●WiFi Connect: Pair the laptop with the VCX SE via WiFi to establish communication link (Select DoIP VCI to pair in available network, password is 12345678)

●Cable Connect: Connect the laptop and the VCX SE using the USB cable.

4. Update firmware, doip and license and download driver in VX Manager and open software to start diagnosis.

All System Diagnostics

The Diagnostics application enables a data link to the electronic control system of the test vehicle for vehicle diagnosis. The application performs functional tests, retrieves vehicle diagnostic information such as trouble and event codes and live data for various vehicle control systems, such as ABS, SRS, Engine, Transmission, Brake System, Emission System, Fuel system, Light system, Wiper System etc.

VIN Scan Function

●Auto VIN Scan
The VIN code entry screen allows the operator to connect the device to communicate with the vehicle and the ignition switch is in the 'on' position, by selecting the "read" (read) option to automatically obtain the vehicle's VIN code. The operator selects the "identity vehicle" option to continue.

●Manual Enter VIN
If communication with the vehicle cannot be established, or the VIN code cannot be read automatically, the complete 17-digit VIN code can be entered manually. Then select the "identity vehicle" option to continue.

Active Test & Bi-directional Control

Bi-Directional Control which is used to request information or command a module to perform specific tests and functions .

Bi-directional makes VCX SE more than a tool that receives information from the tool but also a tool that can send commands to control the component. In this case, it is easier for mechanics to identify and troubleshoot problems without going under the cars. Some features for your reference:

Why does the car not work properly after replacing the ECU/module?

When the ECU/module is damaged, replacing it with a new ECU/module is necessary. After processing the replacement, you must follow the manufacturer's strict procedures for matching, learning, coding, and even programming it to get the car to run properly. Otherwise, the car could not start, or some parts will not work. VCX SE can help you do that.

VCX SE Support Advanced ECU Coding Functions (Online Coding, Offline Coding, Flash Hide Functions)

Code Adaptive Data: Every automobile actuator has a record code in ECU, which is the basis for automobile computer to mobilize their work. VCX SE has the ECU coding function to recognize new actuators after you change the fault actuators or parts.

Recognize Replaced Modules: ECU coding enables multiple car systems to recognize each other and then the actuators can start to work.

Flash Hidden Functions: This feature is used to activate hidden features that most car manufacturers include that are not available to the average car owner. Examples include corrective consumption calculation, seat belt warning, auto start/stop, hidden menus, daytime running lights, cruise control, automatic locking and unlocking of the central locking, comfort windshield washer, welcome lights, etc. To enable most of these functions, it is enough to activate them (in the car's "brain"), while for some others it is necessary to install additional missing modules in the car.
